This chart shows the angle of view,
when viewed on a monitor
, depending on the focal length of a lens and what size CCD sensor the lens is used with. Most of Q5USA's cameras use 1/3" CCD with some exceptions of 1/4" which are listed in the specifications of every camera.
As a general rule, the higher the focal length, the narrower the view and the closer the object appears. The lower the focal length, the wider the view is but objects are farther away. Such the terms "telescopic" and "wide angle" are used respectively for narrow and wide camera views.
This chart takes into consideration that 10% of what the camera sees is hidden when viewed on a monitor due to oversanning. Some professional monitors have an underscanning feature to alleviate this.
